January Events You Can Still Attend
Social Mixer in Hendersonville on Wednesday, January 18: This is a casual drop-in meet-up at the Dry Falls Brewery, 425 Kanuga Road, Hendersonville from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. No registration is necessary. Meet-up details here.
HPDE Planning Meeting: Saturday, January 21, following the Sim Racing event at The Track of Asheville, the track driving planning group will gather about 11:30 a.m. to plan the Appalachian Region High Performance Driver's Ed (HPDE) schedule for 2023. If you want to help determine what tracks will be on the schedule and when, come join this meeting.
February Events Opening for Registration
Tech Session: Porsche Driving Modes and Introduction to Performance Driving Activities
Join us for a driving-focused Tech Session on Saturday, February 4 at the Enka-Candler Public Library at 10:30 a.m. for a classroom session on:
- Porsche Driving Modes: Dan Dazzo will help you understand Porsche driving modes and aids, PASM, PSM, Sport, Sport Plus; what they are and when to use them or turn them off.
- High Performance Driver's Education: DE Chair David Wells and Chief Driving Instructor Dan Dazzo will provide an introduction to taking your Porsche on the track for a fun and safe experience; how to get started, what to expect and what the 2023 plans are for Appalachian Region.
- Autocross: Autocross Chair Don Therien will introduce you to Autocross and what the plans are for Appalachian Region in 2023.

MANNA Volunteer Day: Ten members join together every month at MANNA FoodBank to sort food and pack boxes to support our neighbors in Western North Carolina facing food insecurity issues. We always need volunteers so if you are interested send David Butler an email with this link to join us on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 from 1-3 p.m.
Breakfast in Lake Lure: On Saturday, February 11, 2023 the Breakfast Ramble will try Victory in Lake Lure. This will be a first-time stop for the Breakfasts. Lake Lure provides great roads to and from the breakfast no matter where you live so you get the bonus of a fun Porsche drive on your own with breakfast with your friends. This event offers registration with this link starting at noon, today, January 15, 2023.
February Events - No Registration Necessary
Black Mountain Perks - Tuesday, February 14, 2023: The move to Tuesday, brought the largest group yet for a coffee and conversation. Bring your spouse/partner for a Valentines Day coffee at the Monte Vista Hotel in Black Mountain. Coffee, pastry and conversation starts at 9:00 a.m.
Social Mixer in Asheville - February 15, 2023: The evening social mixer stops at Hillman Brewery on Sweeten Creek Road in Asheville. The mixers start at 5:00 p.m. and usually end around 7:00 p.m. There is no registration necessary, just drop in when you can and leave when you need to. Food is available at Hillman's.
Sim Racing League - The Sim Racing league is sold out, but if you want to come by and see what Sim Racing is all about stop by during one of the racing events on January 21, February 18 or February 25. The racing runs from 10-11:30 a.m.

National PCA Events to Consider Attending
Werks Reunion Amelia Island Registration
Join a group from Appalachian Region driving together to Amelia Island area to attend the various car events including the PCA Werks Reunion where over 600 Porsches gather, and the pre-Amelia Concours Cars & Coffee that displays a quality of car not normally seen at a Cars & Coffee. Registration for the PCA Porsche Parking Corral or entering your Porsche to be judged on the field opens today, December 14, 2022 at noon by clicking on this link. Porsche Parade in Palm Springs, California
This year's Porsche Parade is being held in Palm Springs, California. Phase 1 registration for the event opens on February 1, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. ET. Porsche Parade is a week of driving, concours, autocross, rally and socializing with over 2,000 PCA members. For complete details on the event click on this link. At the awards banquet held on Tuesday night of Parade week is when the winners are announced for the three national awards that Appalachian Region submitted for consideration. I hope some of you will join me in California for this national event
