On a rainy June 22, the Appalachian welcomed 64 new members who had joined in the previous twelve months. This growth has resulted in the Region's membership exceeding 400 for the first time.
Fortunately the morning thunderstorms cleared before we began setting up, but we did cancel our usual informal concours on the grass to avoid damaging the wet lawn. For the first tme, we had to set up a registration wait list, but eventually we were able to accommodate everybody who wanted to attend. As usual, the Region supplied the chicken and the members brought potluck sides and their own drinks.
