A summary of our recent and upcoming events.
Message from the President...
I'm proud to announce Appalachian Region was recognized by PCA National as...
A Top PCA Region in the Country.
Awards were announced at the recent Porsche Parade in Palm Springs and Appalachian Region was recognized as the First Runner-up in the Region of the Year competition.
Appalachian Region had a stellar year in 2022 as we conducted 82 events with a 50.3% participation rate by membership. The Region raised over $30,000 for our charity partners and grew membership by 11.7% in 2022.
This is the second time in the past five years that Appalachian Region has been recognized in this prestigious competition. If you would like to read about all the awards presented this year, here is a link to an article about the awards.
Appalachian Adventure '23 is now open for registration. Appalachian Adventure is at the Waynesville Inn & Golf Club this year starting the evening of September 7 and continuing till Sunday, September 10, 2023.
The resort will be welcoming the Appalachian Region after a $27 million renovation to the resort, rooms, banquet facilities and grounds. Waynesville will provide a great jumping off spot for drives and the grounds will provide a beautiful green space for the concours.

Drive on and enjoy the holiday weekend.

Performance Driving Activities with Your Porsche
Barber Motorsports Park HPDE
Join us at the Alabama Region Fall Fest at Barber Motorsports Park September 23rd and 24th at our third HPDE event of 2023.
Registration for this event is open. There are already over 70 registrants and this event will sell out early, so don't wait (Beginner and Novice groups tend to sell out first)! Don't miss your opportunity to drive this track with your APR friends!
The event is open to all drivers. Instructed and solo run groups available. Registration for the event is via ClubRegistration.net If you would like to try HPDE events and want to learn more, contact the Appalachian Region HPDE Chair David Wells. The club does have loaner helmets that you can use for your first experience.
Don Therien is organizing Appalachian Region participation in the July 23rd Wilderness Trail Region Autocross in Jonesborough, Tennessee, just over an hour away. Appalachian Region doesn't run its own Autocross but instead piggybacks on Wilderness Trail's Autocross Series. It is a well-run program that is a low cost means to start understanding the true performance of your Porsche.
The next Autocross with Wilderness Trail Region is on July 23rd. Registration and information can be found at this link. If you want more information or decide to attend, contact Don Therien as he will arrange an Appalachian Region caravan.
Note: Appalachian Region has several helmets available that members have donated if you want to try one of these events before making your own helmet purchase.
