The Appalachian Region rolled out the perfect weather of sun and 78 degrees to welcome over 24 new members from the past year to the region.  A total of 128 members registered to attend this annual gathering at Longmeadow Park at The Ramble in South Asheville.

The Ramble’s picnic pavilion overlooked the field of green that highlighted the 55 member’s Porsches on display.  There was everything from an early longhood ’72 911 Targa and ’74 914 to a month’s old GT3 Touring.  Porsche Asheville supported the club with a bright yellow Boxster and a rich red Taycan.

New Member Chair Don Lowcavage, VP John Goetzman and President Jim Moore welcomed members as they arrived and checked in to find their table assignment.  This year’s new Picnic Chairs Carole and Gene Carter brought the idea to assign seating so new members and existing members have the opportunity to meet each other.

Table assignments required a lot of work by Carole but based on the conversation and interaction it was enjoyed by all. New friends were made and new members effortlessly were introduced to existing members.

Carole and Gene brought organization and planning to Longmeadow Park as over 20 volunteers set the Concours field, staged the cars, organized food and created an ambiance of a fun summer picnic.  As I visited the tables, the comments of “what a great event” were continued to be heard.

Thanks to all who made this day possible and to the new and existing members who joined us in the park.
