Our mountain driving clinic classroom was a sellout, but we were able to accommodate those on the wait list.
Our chief instructor, Dan Dazzo, gave the talk, and if you missed it or would like to review it, his slides and videos are on our Track page. The clinic had two aims to prepare new members for driving our interesting, but sometime tricky, mountain roads and to introduce vehicle dynamics to those attending our On Track Car Control Clinic at the Michelin Proving Grounds.
For many year we've conducted drives over our outstanding mountain roads. These feature blind turns, limited to non-existent shoulders, and large elevation changes that can result in weather changes during the drive. Add to that the sometimes unique driving techniques of the local folks, and the result requires more skill and caution than we sometimes use.
Our updoming car conrol clinic will be our first, and much of Dan talk coverend the techniques that will be used there. This will be the first time most of the participants have done this, and this introduction will allow more time behind the wheel.
Thanks to our Secretary, Dave White, we enjoyed a large classroom at AB Tech's Ferguson Center that comfortably seated all.
