Despite near freezing morning temperatures, over thirty Porsches gathered at Asheville Outlets for our November App Café – Porsches and Coffee which included a toy drive to support Eblen Charities.
Thanks to members’ generosity, the drive collected nearly $1,000 worth of toys and over $2,700 to benefit Eblen’s St. Nicholas Project. On Christmas morning, there will be smiles on many children's faces in our region thanks to the efforts of Appalachian Region members.
As always it was a great time to enjoy the fellowship of club members and to see some great Porsches. And there were many great Porsches to see – every decade from the 1950’s to the present was represented.
Thanks to the Asheville Outlets mall for their hospitality. Thanks also to Karl Lail and Hav-A-Cup for donating coffee (which was especially popular on this chilly morning) and to Mark Kaye of Porsche Asheville who brought a 911 Targa 4S and donuts!
This was our last App Café for the year. We will be back in April.
The Eblen St. Nicholas Project provides toys to children of families in need throughout our area. The toys are distributed through a Christmas store located at Westgate Mall where families can come in and shop for their children.
