I hope you and your Porsche are enjoying this beautiful time of year here in the mountains. Maybe it's just that we are escaping from the long COVID winter, but the weather has seemed particularly nice this Spring.

We have a lot of activities planned in the coming months, so let's take a look. This Saturday, May 8th is a sold out Dine & Drive called The Straightaway named after the destination, but not the roads leading to it! On June 3rd another sold out event will take participants to a Roan Mountain Picnic lunch followed by an optional dinner and overnight stay in Abingdon, VA.

If you were not able to make the above events, we have more coming soon starting with the New Member Picnic. This annual June Event returns after a COVID absence last year. In the meantime, we have had a lot of new members join the Region over the last 24 months. Registration for the Picnic and car display will open at Noon on May 15th for the June 26th Event. Details and Event Registration are available here. Although there is room for 150 members, I still recommend registering early as soon as possible after noon on the 15th.

Also on May 15th we will have our next APP Cafe Porsches and Coffee, again behind the Asheville Mall. Plan to arrive at 8:15 am. and enjoy the people and Porsches until 9:45. No registration needed and free coffee will be provided for members.

We are also announcing dates for three big APR Events that were postponed last year: The 5-Year Anniversary Party of the Appalachian Region's Charter is back on the calendar for August 12th. This year's Appalachian Adventure weekend will be held in Blowing Rock, NC from September 9th-12th. Finally, Luft Wasser will return to Brevard, NC on October 2nd. Save the dates!

Make your Porsche feel loved; take her for a spin this weekend!

My best, Don Therien
