We now have proof that Appalachian Region Members are a dedicated group of Porsche enthusiasts. On Saturday, April 10th, 30 Porsches and 48 members (including a dozen New Members!) braved the cold and rain to drive and picnic together in spite of the weather.
Great to see that member turnout!
This Saturday morning, April 17th, we have back to back events less than 5 miles apart in Asheville and Arden. The first is the App Cafe Porsches and Coffee event to be held at the Asheville Outlet Mall on Brevard Rd. Please arrive about 8:15 for complimentary coffee and donuts. Drive around the Mall to the I-26 side and look for the Porsches!
Saturday's second event will start at 10 am, and will feature a demonstration of Excel Clear Paint Protection Film (PPF) application. Michael Scharett is the owner of Auto Armor of Asheville. Mike will give us a demonstration of his high quality work. Mike also offers ceramic paint protection and custom wrap installations from racing stripes to whole car color changes. Auto Armor of Asheville is located at 8 Holly Acres Lane, Arden (off Brevard Rd just north of NC-146). Bear left twice on Holly Acres and stay off the dirt road. There will be room for all at these two events, so if you have the time please join us at either or both!
Our next Group Drive will be held on Saturday, May 8th. The Straightaway Drive & Dine will take us to The Straightaway Cafe in Black Mountain. Registration opens this Thursday, April 15th, at Noon on the APR Website at aprpca.org. Be sure to order your meal(s) when registering, or plan to bring your picnic lunch and camp chairs.
Some new (and some old) members have been asking where they can obtain Appalachian Region Name Badges, which are available through our website. On the homepage, click on "store" found at the middle top of page, then click on "Special Items" in the left column. Badges are $15 each. These Name Badges are a great way to get to know fellow members. I suggest duplicate orders for multi-Porsche owners so you always have them at every event.
I visited Porsche of Asheville this morning for a complimentary Track Inspection of my Cayman. While there I was treated to a look at two new 911's and a Taycan Turbo S in the Porsche showroom. Gorgeous cars! If you haven't been there for a while, drop by to say hello and be sure to thank them for their support of the Appalachian Region.
See you at an APR Event in the near future. Enjoy the drive and stay safe!
