I hope you had a pleasant Holiday weekend and have been enjoying the warmer weather we are experiencing. Open windows or top down driving are great ways to leave COVID thoughts in the rear view mirror!
We had a great turnout for our Troyer's Amish Market Dine and Drive on June 26th. Registration sold out in less than an hour, so we added a second group and sold that out as well! 28 Porsches and over 40 members enjoyed the roads and the lunch under an outdoor pavilion at Troyer's.
We're expecting another great turnout for our Crack the Whip Drive and picnic on July 22nd. Check the APR website at aprpca.org on the homepage for details and registration. Registration starts on July 12th at 12:01 am.
We are also opening registration at 12:01 on July 12th for our August 12th Tail of the Dragon Drive and Dine which will end at The Tapoco Lodge in Robbinsville for lunch at the Riverside Cafe. If you haven't been to the Tapoco Lodge, you are in for a treat. Some of us are arriving on the 11th and staying at the Lodge to be there early on the 12th. If you would like to stay over on Tuesday night, please call the Lodge to arrange this on your own and email Jim Moore to let him know that you will be there.
For those less inclined to drive the Tail of the Dragon on August 12th, we are also offering a lunch only Scramble at the Tapoco Lodge. Drive to the Lodge on your own and join Tail drivers from group 2 to enjoy lunch at the Riverside Cafe.
Many of our new Members have asked where they can purchase APR Name tags. Again, go to the APR website Homepage, click on "Store" near the top of the page and then click on "Special Items". While you are there, take a look at lots of clothing clothing options for men and woman. You can also find other items branded with the the Porsche Shield and the APR Logo for sale at this "Goodie Store".
One more interesting feature on our website is the APR Marketplace. Buy or sell cars or parts to fellow Region members without any fees! Click on "Market" at the top of the APR website homepage to check it out..
We have a lot going on in the next 4-5 weeks. We're also working on a Gimmick Rally to be held in September. More details to follow. I hope to see you at one of these summer events soon!
