The Appalachian Region may have been hindered in 2020 by COVID restrictions, but you can’t keep a good team down!

I hope that you and your family are doing well, are healthy and preparing for coming Holiday Celebrations. Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah or another December tradition, I wish you all a wonderful Holiday Season with your family and friends.

Porsche Panorama is the official magazine of the Porsche Club of America. A 160+ page glossy, full-color magazine that features the work of some of the most prominent automotive writers and photographers in the industry.

Each December we hold a Region annual meeting to review the year and plan for the next one. and this year it was virtual.

spite of the recent increase in COVID restrictions, I hope that you were able to enjoy a fun and safe Thanksgiving with family and friends.

Happy Thanksgiving!! Although many Regions still have events to execute in our Zone 3, most of this note is about looking to 2021 and making you aware of some super events to put on your calendar. But 2 things before we look at next year:

Table RockThe day started chilly in Asheville but 24 Porsches and 39 members braved the cold to drive from Hendersonville to Table Rock State Park in South Carolina for a picnic.

Many car collectors dream of finding that rare car in a barn, old garage, or abandoned outdoors.

Joe Watson put together another sold out Breakfast Ramble with 25 Appalachian Region members coming together at the Smoky Mountain Diner in Hot Springs.

About a dozen Appalachian members met on October 14 at Highland Brewing to celebrate fall.

After a foggy start at 8:30 am. the day turned into a great one for early-fall viewing.

PCA members can enroll their children, grandchildren, nieces, or nephews under the age of 18 in the free PCA Junior program.

On August 19th PCA National named the Appalachian Region as the winner of the Public Service Award given each year to the PCA Region that demonstrates the best interaction with its local charities.

Carolinas Region PCA will be hosting their last event of the year at Virginia International Raceway November 20-22. 

Breakfast Rambles finally returned to the Appalachian Region calendar as an event that could be held, and comply with the Covid gathering guidelines.

In addition to the huge regional social media presence, the club is active at the National level, too. Join us for our daily posts on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

David Stori put together a great and sold-out SUV drive for the Appalachian Region, with 12 SUV’s and 42 members participating.

Hello PCA members in Zone 3! We have had positive net growth as a zone through July of slightly over 1%. Peachstate is number 3 in the member growth contest and Appalachian is number 4 in the factored growth.

Sixteen Appalachian Region members in 11 Porsches met up in Waynesville to start a two-day overnight trip to the Tapoco Lodge for a drive of the Tail of the Dragon in Deals Gap, Tennessee.

Greetings friends of the Appalachian Region Driver Education Program!

The morning meet-up at the Blue Ridge Parkway Visitor’s Center started the day with an immediate change in plans.

The Appalachian Region is fortunate to have the best driving roads and scenery in the country and the July 22, 2020 Crack the Whip drive didn’t let us down.

Sim Racing provides fun and competitive online racing against members from all 14 Zones!

I hope you had a pleasant Holiday weekend and have been enjoying the warmer weather we are experiencing. Open windows or top down driving are great ways to leave COVID thoughts in the rear view mirror!

Appalachian Region was finally able to return to the road again after the COVID-19 Stay-at-Home order was lifted.  

We hope that everyone is well and beginning to emerge from COVID hibernation! Here in NC we are feeling increasingly better as we slowly return to our normal lives - haircuts, restaurants and driving!

Hello members of Zone 3! I have been purposely offline these past few weeks; I didn't think you needed anything from me as your Regions have had much to tell you.

We held our April Mixer as a video conference.

Although our Anniversary Celebration is only 2 days away, the APR Board of Directors has made the decision to postpone the event.

Valentine BreakfastOn Saturday, February 15, 36 Appalachian members met for breakfast at the Corner Kitchen in Biltmore Village.

New BelgiumWe held our February mixer at New Belgium Brewing in Asheville with about 20 folks attending.

Parade Registrations opens January 28, 2020 at 12pm EST. Although a hike from our Zone, it is a week long PCA extravaganza at a great resort.
