Our Fall track event is scheduled for September 8th and 9th at Carolina Motorsports Park (CMP) near Camden, SC and will be sponsored by the Carolinas Region PCA. This is a two day Driver's Education (DE) event and is open for registration.

As of today, there are at least 8 APR members already registered for the CMP event including several of our own regional DE Instructors. This will be the first concerted effort of our APR DE Instructors and we are planning to have a great time!! So go ahead and register ASAP and let me know if you plan to attend.

CMP is probably the most accessible track to our region. It was designed by Alan Wilson who also designed Barber Motorsports Park. It has a state of the art facility, boasting a 2.27 mile road course, competition kart track, and a club for driving enthusiasts.

Many different organizations like the SCCA, NASA, NASCAR, BMWCCA, Grand AM, and PCA come to CMP's track to race, test, and drive.

You can view information about CMP at the following link: www.carolinamotorsportspark.com.

To register, go to www.clubregistration.net. You will need to create a profile first to access the event. You can then use the "Search for Events" tab to find this event by "type" (DE) or "host" (Carolinas Region). All information about the event and CMP is posted on the website including schedules, costs, discounted hotel rooms, meals, etc. The host hotel is Colony Inn Camden ($75 per night).

If you have any questions at all about the event or need help registering, etc., please do not hesitate to contact me and I will do my best. I don’t know of any way to have more fun with your Porsche than putting it on the track! And, the driving skills you learn on the track will translate to the road to make you a safer and better driver!

See you at the track!
