I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable Labor Day weekend.

There are several important issues to address: Board of Directors officer nominations are currently open for 2020-2021 with election to follow.  In accordance with the bylaws of the Appalachian Region, an officer nomination committee has been formed for the purpose of putting forth a slate of AR members in good standing to elect a new Board of Directors (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer) to serve a two-year term starting 1 January 2020.  Our nominating committee is composed by the following AR members: Jim Peterson (Board member - Past President), Charlie Hickey and Bob Herrmann.  Nominations for officer positions are currently being taken. if you would like to make a nomination or be considered for office, please contact Jim Peterson.

The second item concerns our Appalachian Region website access.  If you have bookmarked our website as http://apr.pca.org, you may receive a message stating that the website is not available.  In the past, this link has automatically redirected requests to the 'real' website address of http://aprpca.org.  If you have a link that is not working, please delete it, creating a new link to http://aprpca.org.

Finally, we've been requested not to publish photos/video containing license plate information on social media sites (the Appalachian Region only has a Facebook page and its a closed group): it is now against PCA policy.  There is concern that if media becomes public, members would lose insurance coverage by having their policies cancelled.  Please respect other members' privacy: effictive immediately, any media posted to the Appalachian Region Facebook page exposing license plate information will be deleted.

Events: if you missed the Appalachian Adventure in Hiawassee, Georgia, last month, you missed another great event with Porsche fanatics from all over the south!  Looking forward, plans are underway to hold the 2020 AA in Blowing Rock towards the middle of September. The planned date has does not conflict with any other planned Zone 3 events now on the calendar, a problem we've had in the past.  Stay tuned for more information.
