Appalachian Adventure is coming up in a couple of weeks;

Claudia and I are looking forward to it! While registration has closed, if you are up for a nice 'ramble' to the north Georgia mountains come on down to the Ridges Resort at Lake Chatuge on Saturday, August 17th between 11:30 am and 2:00 pm, to enjoy the car show! (Lunch is 'on your own'.)

The Appalachian Region Board of Directors and committee chairs are meeting this Thursday at 4:00 pm in the Porsche Asheville conference room to conduct Region business: all PCA members may attend. Other AR events this month look a little 'Hendersonville heavy':

  • This coming Saturday, 9:00 am - 'Fireside Breakfast Ramble' at the Fireside Restaurant and Pancake Inn in Hendersonville. Registration is required and there are still a few spots available: more info and sign up.
  • Wednesday, August 14, 5:00-7:00 pm - Triskelion Brewery in Hendersonville. Blow off a little steam with your Region friends before heading to the Appalachian Adventure. As usual look for the white AR name badges...

In other Region news, the Board of Directors met with Porsche Asheville principals this past Friday: Porsche Asheville is still fully committed to the support of the Appalachian Region for the remainder of this year and going forward into 2020. In the sales department, Porsche Asheville has obtained additional 'buildable' allocations of both the 2020 Speedster and 992 (one each) as well as for the new Macan! If you are in the market for a new Porsche, hurry in! Not in the market for a new Porsche? Visit the service lane for a free car wash compliments of Porsche Asheville! While your there, thank Scott Wilkerson, Luis Alvarado, and David Smith, as well as other Porsche Asheville personnel, for their continued support of our Region. In the service department, Porsche Asheville has added a second Master Porsche technician as well as two Porsche-trained apprentices; in addition, two Audi technicians are attending Porsche training in order to provide us with the very best in Porsche service, including our classic air-cooled models!

Finally, the two-year term for your current Region Board members ends this year so it is time to form a nomination committee and solicit for nominations for the near-year-end election. If you are interested on serving on the nomination committee or being a Board candidate, please email me at president@aprpca.org with your preference(s).

See you at AA if not before!
