The Fireside Restaurant and Pancake Inn of Hendersonville proved to be a popular breakfast venue for the August 2019 Breakfast Ramble as the run-up to the Appalachian Adventure.
Many of the 38 attendees and 21 Porsches in the parking lot will be attendance for the August 15 Adventure in Hiawassee, Georgia.
In addition to ongoing club members, and Board Members Peter Graham and Don Grainger and spouses Claudia and Robin, the event drew six new transfer members, including Don and Susan from the Carolinas, Chris and Christine, new Cayman owners in Asheville and David and Joan from Maryland. Jeff and Linda from the Carolinas, recent winners at the Porsche Parade also joined us. Welcome to the Appalachian Region of the Porsche Club of America.
Prospective new members attending were Bill and Shiela whom are new to the area from Maine and just purchased a Speed Yellow 993 and Gordie a former member who came back into the Porsche family with a 968. We hope to see you at one of our upcoming events.
The restaurant was hopping with regular customers so the Appalachian Region had the Fireside overflowing. Food and the service were great and they fit all of us in even though it looked doubtful when the group arrived.
We were “lucky” to have been there the last Saturday morning of live music. The music duo was talented but I am not sure it totally enhanced the conversation among club members. Oh well, it didn’t seem to impact the eating and enjoyment of eggs, waffles and pancakes.
Thanks to Joe Watson for coordinating the event and working with Fireside for a flawless breakfast.
