With Treffen Asheville activity ramping up, the Appalachian Region still has 'normal' region activities planned:

This Wednesday, September 13th from 5-7 pm - Appalachian Region Social Mixer: We'll meet at the Thirsty Monk South, 2 Town Square Blvd. #170 (Biltmore Park), Asheville. As usual, look for the white name badges. Hope to see you there! (Perfect to let off a little TA steam...)

We are still looking for a willing member to fill the Event Chair position. This position has been one of the most demanding because one person was required to do all the work. I would like this to be a Region initiative where individual members plan/scout a Region Saturday activity with the Event Chair overseeing/coordinating the activity. 2018 plans are already underway: tentatively January's event will be a tech session at UNCA to check out their Formula SAE race car and the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) studio. (Thank you to Scott Walker for coordinating!) In the meantime if you have an idea for an Appalachian Region monthly activity, send me an email president@aprpca.org.

Speaking of Scott Walker... Did you know that the Appalachian Region has a Facebook page? Scott has recently come onboard as our Social Media Chair and has been very good at adding/updating content. The AR FB page is a closed group: to sign up, you must have a Facebook account and make a request to join the page. Thanks, Scott!

I would like to thank all AR members that have worked so diligently for the benefit of the Appalachian Region and the larger PCA; these efforts typically go unrecognized but are required to keep our Region relevant to the membership. At the risk of leaving a hard-working member unrecognized, I will not mention names (yet); however, I would encourage all members to thank those that are working for our Region. Better yet, get involved: this is, after all, your Region!
