This is a two and a half hour drive through some of the nicest roads and scenery that North Carolina has to offer, and along the way you can pick out some noteworthy landmarks and answer a few questions for a chance to win some nice prizes.

We will meet in the parking lot of the shopping center at the intersection of Hwy 221 and Hwy 70 in Marion, NC, at 9 am on Saturday, June 20, 2015 to receive driving instructions, etc. From there you will follow a circuitous route that will end in the lake Watauga area where we will have a nice lunch, score our sheets and award prizes. Everyone should be on their way home by 2 o'clock or before. I can guarantee you a great drive and scenery and a challenging fun time, but the most important part of this event is that it is a charity rally, and in my mind there is no more worthwhile charity than our military veterans.

All proceeds from this rally go to the "Hope for the Warriors" charity which is based in Jacksonville, NC. This organization was started by a veteran and uses primarily volunteers, many of whom are veterans and is one of the highest rated veteran oriented charities. Judy and I are funding the entire cost of putting on this rally and 100% of your registration fee will go to the charity. So even if you hate good mountain roads, great scenery and having fun, do it for our needy veterans (and a chance to win a 1st prize worth a few hundred dollars).

This event is open to anyone with any kind of vehicle. It is not a race and a ticket will disqualify you from any prize. It is not a led event, so you do not have to keep up with anyone else. You take your directions and go, and we will see you at the end for scoring and dinner. Meet-up will be at 9:00 am in front of the Peebles Store (near the Lowe's), 364 US 70 W, Marion, NC, off of US-221.

Preregistration is necessary so we can get started quickly Saturday morning and also so the restaurant can know how many to expect. Registration fee is $25 per car, all of which goes to the charity and should be sent to Bob Futrell, PO Box 297, Little Switzerland, NC 28749, and we would like to receive those by June 10. We currently have 21 vehicles signed up.

Please share this with your friends, car clubs you belong to, and anyone else that you feel would be interested. If you have any questions, comments or suggestions or would like to donate any prizes please call Bob at (828) 385-3100.
