This fall the Region held an auction for two tickets to the Porsche World Roadshow, donated by Porsche Asheville (Harmony Motors), and our winner was John Brown.

Here’s another update on what’s new and exciting with the Appalachian Region - PCA.

Holiday PartyThe Appalachian Region wrapped up its first year with a Christmas Holiday Party, hosted jointly with Harmony Motors (who did much of the heavy lifting).

These results of the November election were announced at the December 5th Annual Membership Meeting. Their terms begin January 1.

November MeetingOn November 7 the Region held its monthly meeting at G And S Motors in Fletcher, where we admired the beautiful cars on display.

Here's an update with important information on a couple of upcoming events:

PicnicWe had a capacity crowd of over 50 at the 9/3/15 Picnic at the Reynolds Mountain pavilion.

The Appalachian Region has come a long way since it’s chartering on 2/6/15 with less than 100 primary members. Many folks have worked together to bring the region to where it is today with 172 primary members and 115 supplemental members.

According to the Bylaws of the Appalachian Region - PCA, the Nominating Committee report nominates these individuals for the Board of Directors of the Appalachian Region - PCA for terms beginning January 1, 2016:

CroquetA beautiful August 29 morning found a group of Porsche owners, all with type-A personalities, engaged in a death-match at the Black Mountain Croquet Club.

The ENews sent 7/31/15 indicated that a second ticket might be forthcoming, based on the turnout and participation in the raffle held at our Membership Meeting this past Saturday. Now Harmony Motors has graciously provided it. Holding an auction is an inclusive way to allow all Appalachian Region members an opportunity to participate.

AugustOn August 1 the Region held its monthly meeting at Harmony Motors, who donated the raffle prize, a ticket for two people to enjoy three hours of driving at the Porsche World Roadshow at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

May DnDSaturday started as another picture-perfect North Carolina mountain day with 36 PCA members and 21 cars gathered at the Ingles on NC-9 in Black Mountain.

April DnDOur 4/4/15 Drive and Dine from UNC Asheville to Smoky Mountain Diner in Hot Springs, NC was fun and a great chance to get our cars back on the road after winter hibernation.

Charter PartyOn April 2, the Appalachian Region, PCA, celebrated the granting of its charter with a party attended by 140 people and hosted by Harmony Motors, who really did an outstanding job on this event.

March MeetingOn March 7, the Appalachian Region, PCA, held its first monthly meeting with a fine presentation by Wayne Bush, the “map guy,” on scenic drives in our area.
