More than a dozen Appalachian Region members attended the 2024 Porsche Parade held this year in Birmingham, Alabama.  Parade opened Sunday, June 9, 2024 and concluded Saturday, June 15, 2024.

Attendees were greeted with typical Alabama summer heat of 95°, and it didn't let up for the week.

Members from Appalachian Region participated in the Concours, Autocross, Tech Tactics and the various tours. Other events on the calendar included rallies and an HPDE at Barber Motorsports.

Appalachian Region members were also seen volunteering at Parade.  Two Appalachian Region members, Dan Dazzo and David Angelus hold PCA National roles as Safety Chair and Audit Committee Chair respectively, so they were busy at this annual national event.  Dan also helped to judge concours as you see in this photo of him inspecting a Porsche 356 while another judge crawls underneath it.

Appalachian Region brought home a blue ribbon with Allen Peerson’s win in the Concours Preservation category with his 1972 Porsche 911T.  Appalachian Region members Allen Peerson and Beverly Davis drove Allen's 1972 all-original 911T to Porsche Parade in Birmingham, Alabama.  Allen and Beverly are dual members of Appalachian Region and Gulfstream Region (Florida) but we as Appalachian Region are going to claim this win.

Porsche Parade features the largest and most prestigious Porsche concours in the world.  A first-place trophy is a significant achievement.  Allen acquired this Porsche from the original owner who lived just down the road from them in Flat Rock.  The silver paint required careful prep to retain its all-original patina while shining just enough for the judges to capture first place.

Congratulations Allen and Beverly.

If I missed any other winners from Appalachian Region, I apologize for the oversight.  If I missed your win or participation send President Jim Moore a note so it can be announced to the club,.

In 2025 Porsche Parade will be held in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  The dates are July 6-12, 2025.
