The new Breakfast Ramble concept is proving popular as 32 members attended breakfast at the four simultaneous breakfast locations.

The concept is building momentum as Eggs Up in Hendersonville led the way with 11 members attending.  Martha and Ed Rayneri host his location and had no breakfast diners the first month, but now Hendersonville had the most popular location.

An enthusiastic group of chapter members gathered this warm Saturday morning at Beach Mountain Diner in Waynesville, to engage in animated conversation and to enjoy heaping servings of good food. A total of ten members & associate members made up our company, with a preponderance of Boxsters in the parking lot, including new member Gordon Dunn (who joined the chapter 6 months ago) with his Boxster S. Just for good measure, ever alert Bill Price spied a non-member Boxster pulling into the parking lot after breakfast, and swiftly made friends with James Daley, who is now our newest new member! Welcome James, we look forward to many fun adventures with you over the coming season!

With the improving weather that each future Ramble is bound to encounter, the general crowds at our current venue can be expected to grow larger, which may make the challenge of seating our group together virtually impossible. Please check here before the March 9 gathering for info regarding possible changes to the location. Fortunately there are ample options in the Waynesville/Maggie Valley area, and if a change is made, it will remain a priority to offer delicious food at a reasonable price. We hope to see you there!

Meanwhile, in Asheville, Yohan Sookdeo hosted eight members at the Moose Café in Asheville in what turned out to be a new member event as it was a first time PCA event for five of the diners. Yohan then introduced two of the new members to the experience of driving the best roads in America with a pop-up non-PCA drive to Lake Lure and then up to Black Mountain.

The fourth location of the Panthertown Café in Lake Towaway was created to serve the growing area of Brevard, Cashiers and Highlands, but attendance here has been low. Our host, Mike McLain couldn’t make the breakfast, but Robert Rohl and Joe Watson reported that three guests were at Panthertown

The SIM Racing League has conflicted with the Breakfast dates for January and February and the first HPDE of the year conflicts with the March date, but after that there are no conflicts so we can only expect the breakfasts to grow in popularity.

Next Breakfast Ramble:  Saturday, March 9, 2024:

  1. Moose Café in Asheville
  2. Eggs Up in Hendersonville
  3. Beech Mountain in Waynesville
  4. Panthertown Café in Lake Toxaway

See you at Breakfast!
