In 2022 the Appalachian Region Board made the decision to use the Luft Wasser Porsche Celebration in Brevard as a fundraiser for a local charity. Through an extensive process it was determined that the charity to support would be The Cindy Platt Boys & Girls Club of Transylvania County.
Their 2022 Annual Report was recently published by the Boys & Girls Club and Appalachian Region’s Luft Wasser support was highlighted as shown below.
This recognition by a strong, local Brevard charity doesn’t go unrecognized by the City Leaders of Brevard. Each year we apply to conduct an event in the city. Since initiating this “give-back” to a local charity it is recognized as one more positive for Luft Wasser occurring in Brevard each year.
As mentioned, a process was established with a Public Service Committee to solicit nominations and vet the applicants. Local Brevard PCA members nominated The Cindy Platt Boys & Girls Club of Transylvania County.
The committee vetted the charity looking at their financials, their mission and local Brevard support and recommended to the Board of Appalachian Region to fundraise for The Cindy Platt Boys & Girls Club of Transylvania County.
The Board approved the recommendation of the Public Service Committee. Over $13,000 was raised in support of The Cindy Platt Boys & Girls Club of Transylvania County at the 2022 event.
Supporting The Cindy Platt Boys & Girls Club of Transylvania County was recommended again by the Public Service Committee for 2023. Through registrations and extra donations by Appalachian Region PCA members, Luft Wasser was able to raise over $11,000 for The Cindy Platt Boys & Girls Club of Transylvania County.
Thank you to all the Appalachian Region PCA members who participated and to the Public Service Committee for their recommendation of The Cindy Platt Boys & Girls Club of Transylvania County.
