Last Chance Registration for 2nd Annual Oktoberfest Celebration - October 28
Friday, October 13, 2023 is your last chance to register for the 2nd Annual Oktoberfest Celebration & MANNA FoodBank fundraiser, scheduled this year for October 28, 2023.
George and Cindy Cain are following up the success of the inaugural event with a new venue at the Old Bishop Place Farm in Cedar Mountain. The Biltmore-like estate will double the number who can participate, and provide a remarkable venue of manicured grounds, sculptures, lakes and ponds, with a pavilion that will seat all of us.
The day starts with making your way to Cedar Mountain where the award-winning German restaurant Haus Heidelberg will be serving brats, schnitzel or a vegetarian lunch with German beers and wines. There will be door prizes, a ticket auction and games to enjoy.
German Apparel: If you have appropriate German Apparel for an Oktoberfest Celebration, then wear it as some members did last year (see photo). It will add to the fun and festive nature of the event.

Support MANNA FoodBank to Help Your WNC Neighbors
We have set a goal to raise $10,000 for MANNA FoodBank. Even if you can't make the October 28 Oktoberfest Celebration, consider donating to support MANNA FoodBank. A donation as little as $20 will provide 80 meals for those in need.
If each Appalachian Region member would just donate $40 that will provide 71,520 meals for your neighbors facing food insecurity issues. To make that minimum $40 donation, click on this button and indicate Porsche Club on the MANNA donation page.

A food truck will be on site so you can enjoy dinner with a beer. No registration is necessary, just drop in.
Visit the Porsche Certified Collision Shop K&M Collision - November 11
On Saturday, November 11, 2023, Appalachian Region PCA members can travel to Hickory to visit region sponsor K&M Collision. We hope you never need their services, but accidents happen so it is good to know that a Porsche-Certified Auto Body Shop is around the corner from us as one of the Appalachian Region Sponsors.
K&M have more than doubled their size and services since we last visited them in 2020. You'll be amazed as they take us around their shop as you see not only Porsches, but Ferraris, Bentleys, Teslas and almost any exotic in the shop as they are factory certified for most of the high-end exotics.
The Bradshaw family, owners of K&M, will be on hand to explain their specialized services and help you understand why you want to use the Porsche-Certified shop if or when you need auto body work on your Porsche. As the date comes closer, we will see about setting up carpooling to Hickory.
Get Involved - Lead an Activity for Appalachian Region
Appalachian Region has one of the strongest volunteer bases in the Southeast. We are the envy of many Regions with how our members step up and support our events to make them work, As the year ends however, we have key positions that normally transition to new volunteers and this year is no different.
We need your help in 2024. If one of these roles interests you, reach out to President Jim Moore by clicking this link and we can talk.
- Autocross Chair: Coordinate with Wilderness Trail Region and Highlands Sports Car Club on their Autocross plans for the year and set a schedule for Appalachian Region participation.
- Breakfast Chair: Identify a plan for Breakfast Rambles in 2024 and then arrange with a team and/or host the breakfasts yourself.
- Events Chair: One of the most important roles within the Club. You will be responsible for working with the individual chairs for Tours, Breakfasts, Socials and Coffees to arrange the schedule and events for the enjoyment of club members.
- Sim Racing Chair: Establish a Sim Racing Championship for January and February consisting of three or four races.
- Tour Chair: Create a committee working with President Jim Moore to identify and plan the six tours for the year.
Send President Jim Moore an email by clicking this link if you are interested.
See you at an Appalachian Region Event!
