Despite the dismal weather forecast and dark skies, 20 Appalachian members met for breakfast and car talk at the Randevu Restaurant in Cashiers.
Most arrived after a surprisingly pleasant hour-and-a-half drive through winding mountain roads through scattered showers and light traffic. We had planned to visit the Highlands Auto Festival later, but the weather meant that many returned home after a relaxing breakfast and pleasant chat with good friends.
We have two similar events planned for July. On July 10 we'll have a drive-and-dine to the Nantahala Gorge, and on July 20 a repeat of our popular Off-the-beaten-path cross-country trek for SUVs with a later dine for the partiticapnts as well as sports car drivers.
