Other important dates:
- The Track Committee has selected three Driver Education (DE) events for our region to participate in as a group this year. The first one is scheduled for June 2nd and 3rd at Roebling Road Raceway near Savannah, Ga and will be sponsored by Coastal Empire PCA. This event is still open for registration (closes 5/31). This track is great for those with little or no experience but also provides a challenge for more experienced drivers. To register, go to www.clubregistration.net. You may need to create a profile on club registration first to access the event. You can then use the "Search for Events" tab to find this event by "type" (DE) or "host" (Coastal Empire). All information about the event and Roebling Road Raceway is posted on the website including schedules, costs, discounted hotel rooms, meals, etc.
- Appalachian Adventure registration opens on April 14th on www.clubregistration.net. Hotel rooms at reduced rate are still available by calling The Ridges Resort on Lake Chatuge directly at 706-896-2262. This multi-event weekend features guided and unguided tours of the area roads. The club will hold its first-ever “Fun Rally” that will involve a driver and navigator exploring the local roads in a “Scavenger Hunt” type drive. You won’t want to miss this. Activities during the weekend include a People Choice Concours, great meals, technical quiz, a boat cruise, and excursions to nearby towns for shopping and exploring. Don Therien is organizing the event with Larry Koupal mapping out the rally and drives along with a great organizing and drive committee.
As always, current information about upcoming events is always included on our website (just in case I neglect to include it in an email blast surprise)
I hope to see you Wednesday and/or Saturday,
