Volunteers are needed for Treffen Asheville.

Fellow Appalachian Region Members,

Registration of Treffen Asheville (TA) is scheduled to open Wednesday, May 24th 2017 at 3:00pm EST. At that time, the lion’s share of Region effort should be complete, but volunteers for the Treffen Asheville event will still be needed. Volunteering is a great way to participate fully in individual Treffen activities without making a full commitment. To be included in all TA events, Appalachian Region members will be required to register.

The most significant need will be for Drive volunteers on Thursday and Saturday: leads, mid-pack (larger groups of cars) and sweeps. This is the official request for volunteers to fill these roles. The Drive volunteer commitment is significant: knowing and ‘pre-driving’ the planned route and attending a training session on radio communications are required. Drives may start as early as 8:00 am and may last until 4:00 pm. (Some drives may be designated ‘return on your own’ following lunch/destination arrival – these should be just a morning to early afternoon commitment). The planned compensation package for Drive volunteers is a $25 stipend for gasoline each Treffen drive, a TA t-shirt, lunch and paid admission to drive destination (if applicable).

Drives will require the use of two-way radios between AR members. Radios will be rented at $25/pair for the weekend but if you have a set/sets of radios you are willing to loan for TA in lieu of rental, please indicate your willingness.

In short: if you would like to volunteer to help with a Drive or are willing to loan 2-way radios, a response is requested now. Please indicate all roles you are willing to fill (lead/mid-pack/sweep) on which day(s): Thursday September 21st, Saturday September 23rd; and if you have radios to lend.

Volunteers will also be needed to assemble goodie bags (4-6 hours at Omni Grove Park Inn, Wednesday September 20th), and act as hospitality at the OGPI for the duration of the event. A request for these volunteers will be made closer to the event time (you may volunteer now). A post-Treffen ‘celebration’ social with Porsche Asheville is being planned.

Please respond via e-mail to president@aprpca.org.

Thank you for your time, consideration and support of Treffen Asheville,

Peter GrahamPeter
